Rapid7 Delivers Cloud Anomaly Detection

Share

Rapid7, a Top 40 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) security company, has brought to market an AI-based capability that allows users to detect and prioritize anomalous activity within their cloud environments, according to the company.

The new capability is now available in early access to select Rapid7 customers via Amazon Web Services (AWS). Rapid7 will also showcase the capability at AWS re:Invent, which takes place November 27-December 1, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rapid7 Provides Visibility into Public Cloud Threats

With the new capability, security operations center (SOC) teams can view and respond to threats across public cloud environments faster and more efficiently than ever before, Rapid7 noted.

The capability uses an AI engine that continuously learns and adapts to a cloud environment, Rapid7 said. This engine helps Rapid7 platform users identify suspicious behavior and investigate and respond to active threats.

Meanwhile, when suspicious activity is identified, Rapid7's platform automatically adjusts user configurations, right-size permissions and privileges, the company indicated. It also keeps SOC, engineering and IT teams up to date about incident investigations.

Rapid7 Offers Risk Scoring Across Cloud and On-Premises Environments

The cloud anomaly detection capability announcement comes after Rapid7 in July 2023 released Executive Risk View, a solution that normalizes risk scoring across cloud and on-premises environments.

Executive Risk View is available via Rapid7's Cloud Risk Complete offering. It ingests data across users' workloads running on premises or in the cloud. Accordingly, Executive Risk View gives users "complete visibility into risk across their hybrid environment, in a manner that eliminates blind spots and has the ability to scale as needed," Rapid7 said.

In addition, Executive Risk View uses a threat-aware risk scoring methodology that aggregates and normalizes assessments from cloud and on-premises environments, Rapid7 said. It also provides a dashboard that highlights vulnerabilities and the risks that they pose.

Rapid7 offers security solutions that help more than 10,000 global customers protect against risks across cloud and on-premises environments and manages a partner ecosystem.
