The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a state agency that offers training programs and technical guidance to Texas organizations, has opened a cyber readiness center to help private and public organizations improve their security posture. The cyber readiness center provides cyber preparedness activities to teach organizations how to develop and validate their cybersecurity strategies.
TEEX's cyber readiness center offers online and face-to-face courses, some of which are available free of charge, according to a prepared statement. It also provides courses designed for business leaders, along with other courses geared toward information risk management, cyber incident analysis and disaster recovery.
Other Cyber Readiness Resources Are Available
In addition to TEEX's cyber readiness center, various cyber readiness resources are available, including the Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI) Cyber Readiness Program.
CRI's Cyber Readiness Program was launched in December, and it focuses on embedding basic cyber policies and processes into an organization's operating culture, according to a prepared statement. The program offers tools and resources to address four primary cybersecurity issues:
- Authentication.
- Phishing.
- Patching.
- USB use.
CRI's Cyber Readiness Program is available free of charge, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) last month added the program to its Small Business Cybersecurity Corner.
