A new partnership between XONA and Nozomi Networks is intended to help operators of critical infrastructure accelerate digital transformation with enhanced security and Zero Trust principles, the companies announced.

XONA is best known for its “frictionless user access platform purpose-built for critical infrastructure,” while Nozomi Networks is a specialist in operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) security.

By integrating their technologies, XONA and Nozomi Networks offer organizations “advanced tools to remotely manage the security of operational technology and industrial control systems from anywhere, and on any device.”

What the Partnership Means for MSSPs

XONA founder and CEO Bill Moore shared with MSSP Alert the impact of the partnership will have on the MSSP community:

“With a shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals, MSSPs that work with operators of critical infrastructure play an essential role keeping facilities safe and secure. But in order to apply their expertise across multiple organizations and facilities, enabling secure remote access is vital. By working together to pre-integrate the XONA and Nozomi platforms, we’re making it extremely simple for MSSPs that rely on Nozomi for OT, ICS and IoT security to do their jobs from anywhere while ensuring frictionless access and Zero Trust security.

“And with the XONA platform at their disposal, service providers and their customers will also have the ability to manage other critical infrastructure, including their operational technology and other cybersecurity tools.”

Moore noted that critical infrastructure across the world is under increasing threat and must be modernized to realize the benefits of digital transformation:

“Like many other industries, there are a myriad of reasons forcing industrial facilities to adopt new technology, from the cost and business efficiencies they bring, to meeting the needs of a highly skilled workforce that’s often stretched too thin. Nozomi Networks has been leading the way in OT and IoT security for years, and bringing our technologies together will provide new dimensions of security and accessibility that our customers need to stay ahead in a quickly evolving environment.”

Nozomi Networks solutions support more than 74 million devices in thousands of installations across energy, manufacturing, mining, transportation, utilities, building automation, smart cities and critical infrastructure, according to a prepared statement. With pre-integrated and tested solutions that reduce time to market and increase value, combining Nozomi Networks and XONA technology addresses the complex challenge of securing remote access in critical infrastructures.

Chet Namboodri, senior vice president of Partner Alliances at Nozomi Networks, explained the advantages to the partnership with XONA:

“A big part of helping organizations modernize their critical infrastructure is enabling user access from anywhere, on any device. It’s essential for any business in the 21st Century, and industrial facilities are no different. Adding user access to critical infrastructure is not easy. It’s usually too costly and complex, or vulnerable to attack. But XONA has figured out how to make user access frictionless and secure. Integrating our technologies together provides immense value to our joint customers.”

XONA, Nozomi Expand MSP, MSSP Partnership Program

In July 2022, XONA expanded its MSP and MSSP partner program by adding its first internationally-based partner, South Korea’s Pago Networks. As an MSSP and value-added reseller (VAR), Pago integrated XONA’s solution into its DeepACT managed detection and response (MDR) service.

In 2021, Nozomi Networks launched its MSSP Elite program for OT and IoT managed security services, providing partners with resources they can use to integrate, sell and support Nozomi’s solutions as part of a full managed services offering.

In addition, MSSP Elite provides partners with access to training and certifications so they can learn how to leverage network visibility, monitoring and threat intelligence to support their customers.
