Accenture, a
Top 250 MSSP and global IT consulting firm, has acquired Swedish MSSP and cyber defense services company
Sentor. With the acquisition, Accenture will add Sentor's team of approximately 80 cybersecurity professionals to its
Accenture Security business, according to a prepared statement.
Sentor extends Accenture's resources and capabilities in Sweden, the buyer stated. It will help Accenture address the growing demand for cybersecurity and managed security services globally.
What Is Sentor?
Sentor provides advisory services, security testing, managed detection and response (MDR) services and incident response capabilities. The company's offerings are backed by a security operations center (SOC) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Furthermore, Sentor delivers solutions to help organizations comply with data security mandates. Sentor also supports organizations in a variety of industries, including finance, insurance, manufacturing and retail.
Sentor and Accenture together will provide organizations with technical skills to tackle evolving cybersecurity challenges, Sentor CEO Åse Holmberg stated. As such, the companies could raise the bar for cybersecurity across Sweden and other Nordic countries.
Meanwhile, Sentor expands Accenture's ability to help organizations address cybersecurity challenges, Accenture Security Global Managing Director Kelly Bissell noted. It also ensures that Accenure is well-equipped to help global organizations guard against cyberattacks and become more resilient than ever before.
Accenture Invests in Its Cybersecurity Portfolio
The Sentor acquisition comes after
Accenture Ventures, the venture capital arm of Accenture,
invested in cloud data security software provider Symmetry Systems in June 2021. The investment was part of a $15 million Series A financing round led by
Prefix Capital and
ForgePoint Capital.
In addition, Accenture invested in
Prevailion in May 2021; Prevailion provides organizations with insights into new, active and historical attacks across their networks. Accenture also purchased
MSSP Openminded, and
Brazilian cyber defense services company Real Protect and has
acquired more than 70 IT consulting and technology companies between January 2019 and June 2021.
