Cisco Systems Acquires MSSP Threat Intelligence Software Provider

Share

Cisco Systems has acquired Singularity Networks, a provider of log, network infrastructure analytics, and threat intelligence software for MSSPs and other types of service providers.

Key Singularity partners include such Top 100 MSSPs as Optiv and Presidio. Ahead of the sale to Cisco, Singularity had specifically targeted MSSP Alert's Top 100 list for potential customer wins & MSSP adoption.

Singularity's network management platform, called Elevation, offers threat intelligence that can make MSSPs more  efficient, agile and productive, the company has claimed. Cisco's overall cybersecurity business remains in growth mode, typically generating double-digit percentage revenue growth in recent quarters.

Cisco Acquires Singularity Networks: The Service Provider Strategy

Still, Singularity is more than a security play for Cisco.  Singularity has a range of use cases, the networking giant says. “Singularity Networks captures, enriches, and analyzes network data to help service providers, web companies and enterprises improve network performance, manage costs, gain visibility, and reduce downtime,” Rob Salvagno, head of corporate development and Cisco investments, asserted in a blog post.

Cisco will plug Singularity's technology into the networking giant's Crosswork Network Automation portfolio — which helps service providers to automate their networks.
