Purpose-Built for the MSSP, MSP Model
While there are many DNS filtering tools in the market, CyberFOX has designed its approach specifically for service providers who manage multiple clients and environments. Andy Bensinger, CTO at CyberFOX told MSSP Alert the focus from day one was to make the solution “fast to deploy, multi-tenant by default, and simple to manage without complex identity or proxy setups.”He added that CyberFOX DNS Filtering includes unique features that aren’t always standard in other tools, such as custom category creation, DNS relay support, and AI-driven threat detection. These capabilities help MSPs fine-tune protection without increasing administrative overhead.“Many of the legacy vendors have yet to support filtering of IPv6, which sets us ahead of the curve against the newest internet attacks,” Bensinger said.
Flexible Deployment and a Unified Future
For MSSPs, flexibility often determines whether a product can fit into a managed service or be offered standalone. Bensinger said CyberFOX DNS Filtering was built to support both models, with deployment options that make integration simple.“We will see both happening as MSSPs can deliver CyberFOX DNS Filtering either way,” he said. “Its flexible deployment options - static forwarding, roaming clients, and relay - make it easy to integrate into a full managed security stack or offer as a standalone service for customers who need DNS-layer protection.”
“The plan is to have each solution leveraging the other where it makes sense,” Bensinger explained. “While we intend to always have each product available separately, we will see the evolution to a single platform. Each product, however, will continue to have its own roadmap so that functionality will not stall, which we’ve seen happen in other integrated platforms.”
