Fortinet, an automated and integrated cybersecurity solutions provider, has released a new version of its FortiOS flagship operating system. The company announced the FortiOS 6.2 release at this week's Accelerate cybersecurity conference in Orlando, Florida.FortiOS 6.2 expands the following elements of the Fortinet Security Fabric:FortiADC: Application delivery controller. FortiCASB: Cloud access security broker (CASB) for public clouds. FortiDDoS: Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection. FortiNAC: Network access control. FortiToken: User and device authentication tool. VDOM: Virtual domain. Other notable Fortinet Security Fabric upgrades include:SD-WAN: Offers on-demand WAN bandwidth measurement and other capabilities to optimize WAN performance. FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW): Integrates with Kubernetes via FortiOS 6.2 Fabric Connectors to deliver container security capabilities. FortiMail: Enables end users to apply FortiMail threat intelligence to Microsoft Office Exchange 365 Online emails. FortiGuard AI: Provides a threat detection and analysis system that generates threat intelligence used by Fortinet solutions.
