Fortinet Upgrades FortiSASE Single-Vendor Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Solution

Fortinet has launched new cloud-delivered enhancements to its FortiSASE integrated single-vendor secure access service edge (SASE) solution, the company announced in a prepared statement.

“Single-vendor SASE delivers converged network and security capabilities to connect and secure distributed users, devices and locations to resources in the cloud, edge and on-premises,” Gartner stated in the announcement. Gartner predicted that “by 2025, one-third of new SASE deployments will be based on a single-vendor SASE offering, up from 10% in 2022.”

FortiSASE now includes updates that add enhanced support for secure private access and secure SaaS access use cases. Fortinet said it is extending this convergence to remote users through cloud-delivered SD-WAN connectivity in FortiSASE. As such, Fortinet is enhancing its ability to deliver “granular application access” with Fortinet Universal ZTNA (zero trust network access).

Organizations that have already deployed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and/or FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls can connect their remote users to FortiSASE for private access, without needing an additional license, Fortinet notes.

FortiSASE delivers comprehensive visibility and control for SaaS applications, now enhanced with next-generation dual-mode cloud access security broker (CASB), the company said. By leveraging both inline and API-based support, FortiSASE enables full visibility into sanctioned and unsanctioned applications to address shadow IT and data exfiltration challenges.

Earlier in 2022, Fortinet updated its Engage partner program while also boosting its cybersecurity training programs. The overall effort includes steps to help partners embrace MSSP and MSP business models.

In addition, qualified engage preferred services partners (EPSPs) can access specialized training and direct assistance from Fortinet experts. That way, they can build new cybersecurity skills and improve their existing ones.

EPSPs can collaborate with Fortinet professional support experts on implementations. This allows these partners to find the best ways to bolster their services portfolios and meet customers’ expectations.

Fortinet offers its Cloud Starter Kit and Cloud Enterprise Kit to engage partners. The kits allow these partners to acquire and implement technology to create online environments they can use to show how Fortinet solutions help customers secure data, applications and end-users in the cloud.
