Fortinet, Wiz Partner for Cloud Workload Protection

Wiz has joined the Fortinet Fabric-Ready Technology Alliance Partner Program while Fortinet has joined the Wiz Integration (WIN) Program, the companies announced.

In addition, Fortinet and Wiz have jointly developed an integrated solution that leverages Fortinet's network security technology and Wiz's cloud security technology to help organizations protect their cloud workloads, the companies said in a prepared statement.

How Fortinet and Wiz Technologies Secure Cloud Workloads

Fortinet customers can use the Wiz Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) to scan every layer of their cloud infrastructure and identify and mitigate risks in their cloud-based applications, the company said. In addition, they can define automation rules within the platform.

Meanwhile, Wiz customers can utilize the Fortinet Security Fabric to ingest security insights to automate security enforcement and protect their cloud environments, the companies noted. They also can leverage the Fortinet FortiGate VM Next-Generation Firewall virtual appliance and FortiGate Cloud-Native Firewall (CNF) to block or allow traffic to and from virtual machines running in cloud environments.

What the Partnership Means for Fortinet and Wiz

The Wiz partnership expands Fortinet's Open Fabric Ecosystem, Fortinet CMO John Maddison said. It also allows Fortinet and Wiz to protect their joint customers' cloud workloads and "secure any application journey on any cloud."

For Wiz, having Fortinet as part of WIN "testifies to the power of a 'together' approach," Wiz vice president of Product Strategy Raaz Herzberg stated. And as an Open Fabric Ecosystem member, Wiz can utilize Fortinet technologies to empower security teams to "meet diverse needs quickly, driving more value across the organization and adopting a new cloud operating model," Herzberg indicated.

Fortinet and Wiz Continue to Build Partnerships

Along with Wiz, Fortinet has dozens of Open Fabric Ecosystem partners, including:

WIN provides tools, data and processes that allow developers and security teams to launch technology integrations, Wiz noted. It provides a catalog of cloud security partner integrations from SentinelOne, Axonius, Laminar and other cybersecurity and technology companies.
