Hexnode Expands Into XDR and Strengthens MSP Platform

Hexnode used its annual user conference, HexCon’25, to expand its platform in two directions: the launch of Hexnode XDR, its extended detection and response offering, and new enhancements to its managed service provider (MSP) program. The moves underline Hexnode’s strategy to reduce the “too many tools” problem for IT teams and service providers by tightening the connection between endpoint management and security.

Hexnode XDR: A Unified Approach to Detection and Response

Extended detection and response is already a crowded space, but Hexnode is framing its entry as more than another security dashboard.

"When we talk about Hexnode XDR, it’s important to know that it comes with all the standard features you’d expect in its first phase, like contextual intelligence, actionable remediation, and flexible deployment,” Apu Pavithran, Founder and CEO of Hexnode, explained to MSSP Alert.

"However, what truly differentiates it for MSSPs is how it integrates with the rest of the Hexnode platform. The XDR has access to the huge data set on the corporate endpoints that only a UEM can provide.”

That tight integration gives security teams and MSSPs a more holistic view. Instead of flipping between different consoles, XDR incidents and alerts flow into the same dashboard that manages device health, policies, and activity trends. “UEM handles the proactive side through security policies, XDR handles the reactive side by responding to threats, and together, they create a full circle of security,” Pavithran said.

Ease of use is another focus. Because devices already enrolled in Hexnode UEM can be moved into XDR with only a few clicks, onboarding is designed to be quick for service providers managing multiple clients. Alerts also appear directly in the UEM dashboard, allowing admins to respond to threats and adjust endpoint policies in the same workflow. Looking ahead, Hexnode plans to extend the platform beyond Windows endpoints to macOS, Linux, and mobile devices, add third-party UEM compatibility, and introduce features such as identity-based access controls and application vulnerability insights.

The company also signaled that XDR is just one piece of a broader platform play.

"Hexnode is also cooking up another product – Hexnode DEX for employee experience. Add Hexnode DEX into the mix, and MSSPs suddenly have a bundled package that cuts licensing costs, scales easily, and keeps everything under one roof,” Pavithran noted. “In short, Hexnode isn’t just handing you another XDR. It’s giving MSSPs an integrated suite where the tools talk to each other, learn from each other, and make managing security at scale a whole lot simpler.”

Building Efficiency Into MSP Operations

Hexnode also used HexCon’25 to sharpen its MSP program, first launched last year. The goal is to simplify multi-tenant management, giving providers a single dashboard to monitor all customer accounts, assign technician roles, and manage licenses and billing.

The latest updates add more automation and cost flexibility. “When an MSP is juggling 10, 20, or even 50 client portals, the last thing they want is to manually reconfigure the same compliance baseline for every single customer,” Pavithran said. “With policy replication, you define a policy once and then clone it across other accounts in just a few clicks. That alone saves hours of repetitive work and reduces the risk of misconfigurations. Flexible licensing works the same way for cost efficiency. Instead of paying for blanket licenses with features that might go unused, MSPs can tailor subscriptions to each client’s exact needs. Together, those two features let MSPs scale confidently without scaling their overhead.”

Billing and license management, long a pain point for MSPs, have also been reworked to give providers more control over margins and transparency. “We’ve made billing as granular as possible. MSPs can pick the features and platforms they actually need for each client, rather than being locked into a one-size-fits-all bundle. That means they’re charged only for what they use, which makes it just as viable for a small MSP with a handful of clients as it is for a large-scale provider. On top of that, the model gives MSPs flexibility in how they package and resell services, which directly supports margin control,” Pavithran explained.

Carving Out an Edge in a Competitive MSP Market

The MSP UEM market is already crowded, but Hexnode believes its advantage lies in pairing enterprise-grade endpoint management with true multi-tenant capabilities.

“The edge comes from pairing an enterprise-grade UEM that has the operational tools MSPs actually need, like RMM capabilities, patch management, automation, with true multi-tenant management,” said Pavithran.

“With Hexnode UEM MSP, service providers don’t just get a top-tier endpoint management platform; they also get AI-powered assistance through Hexnode Genie along with a way to streamline device management from a single pane of glass. And because the subscription model is flexible, MSPs can control both costs and offerings more precisely than they can with most competitors. That combination, powerful tech at the right price point, helps us stand out and build lasting relationships with providers.”

By linking XDR with UEM and tailoring its MSP program for scale, Hexnode is aiming to reduce the operational burden that often comes with managing multiple tools and environments. For MSSPs, the integration between proactive endpoint management and reactive threat response creates a cycle of security that can be delivered across client environments more efficiently. For MSPs, the multi-tenant management, policy replication, and flexible licensing model translate into tangible time and cost savings.

The net effect is that Hexnode is positioning itself not only as a vendor of point solutions but as a platform where security, endpoint management, and service provider efficiency come together.
