Huntress has expanded its collaboration with Microsoft to make advanced security more accessible to businesses that rely on Microsoft 365 and Defender but don’t always have the people or time to fully take advantage of them.
The new collaboration connects Huntress' suite of cybersecurity tools directly into Microsoft’s Defender and Microsoft 365 Business Premium platforms. The goal: close the gap between what Microsoft’s security stack offers and what organizations are actually using day to day.
“Microsoft invests billions each year into security, delivering powerful enterprise tools designed for skilled security professionals,” said
Jeremy Young, Community Growth Strategist at Huntress. “However, many organizations worldwide lack access to such expertise. That’s where Huntress steps in. With a rapidly growing team of over 100 experts in our global SOC, we take on the heavy lifting of security management, including for Microsoft Defender where applicable. And we do it fast. Our average response time for Managed EDR is under eight minutes.”
Many small and mid-sized businesses invest in Microsoft licenses like E3, E5, or Business Premium, but don’t always have dedicated teams to configure, manage, and monitor those tools effectively. That’s where Huntress adds value not by replacing Microsoft’s native tools, but by enabling smarter use of them.
“Huntress already significantly addresses this issue,” Young said. “As with our existing solutions, our goal is to simplify tool management while leveraging our human-led, 24/7 SOC to cut through the noise. By transforming enterprise-grade tools into accessible, actionable solutions, we empower IT teams to realize better security outcomes with the investments they’ve already made.”
Designed for MSPs and Built to Scale
The Huntress platform includes endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity threat detection and response (ITDR), SIEM capabilities, and security awareness training. These services integrate directly with Microsoft tools and are built for multi-tenant environments—a major advantage for MSPs and MSSPs managing security across multiple clients.
“Globally, where Huntress is deployed, there’s a significant uptick in Microsoft EDR utilization among our customers compared to the general population,” said Young. “Microsoft has some amazing managed security options for enterprises that can afford them. Huntress unlocks access to Managed EDR and Managed ITDR for organizations that don’t have the budget or internal security teams to use Microsoft’s tools alone.”
That same focus on accessibility and scale is what continues to drive adoption across the managed services ecosystem. Huntress now protects nearly 4 million endpoints and over 2 million identities through 7,000+ partners. And the roadmap is far from finished.
“Managing multi-tenancy has long been a challenge for Microsoft CSPs,” Young added. “That’s a challenge we tackled head-on with Huntress Managed Microsoft Defender. Everything we build is designed with multi-tenant functionality in mind, making it easier for MSPs and MSSPs to manage complex tools across thousands of customer environments.”
As the collaboration expands, Huntress plans to roll out additional integrations that build on Microsoft’s security capabilities. “Today wasn’t the day to spill all the future plans and product strategy,” said Young, “but count on close technical collaboration and continued integrations. If you’re already running Huntress and aren’t fully leveraging all the tech included in your Microsoft license, we’re starting there.”
