Stellar Cyber has rolled out
Release 6.1 of its platform, a move toward a human-augmented autonomous SOC. The update brings clearer visibility, faster investigations, and tighter integrations for enterprises and MSSPs, while ensuring human judgment remains at the core of security operations.
Expanding AI-Driven Investigations
At the core of 6.1 is deeper use of agentic AI. The platform now automates phishing triage and produces case-level summaries that turn raw alerts into contextual stories with timelines, relationships, and recommended actions. Analysts gain more clarity with less manual effort, reducing time spent chasing false positives.
Jeff Hill, Global Senior Director, Service Providers and MSSP at Stellar Cyber, explained to MSSP Alert how this impacts managed service providers directly: “6.1 introduces an Early Access feature that produces AI-generated narratives, hypotheses, timelines, and mapped relationships between entities. Phishing triage happens automatically in under two minutes, with verdicts delivered without manual handoff. For MSSPs, this means faster SLA compliance, shorter detection and response times, and less time wasted on low-value alerts.”
Alongside these features, customizable machine learning models give security teams the ability to fine-tune anomaly detection to their own environments, cutting noise and sharpening accuracy. The result is a workflow where analysts spend more time on high-impact problems and less on repetitive triage.
Strengthening Threat Detection Across Vectors
Identity and network threats remain front-line challenges. This release adds new detections for Active Directory attacks, privilege escalation attempts, and geo-anomaly behaviors. On the network side, capabilities now include early warning for command-and-control activity and rare domain lookups, extending the platform’s coverage against stealthy techniques.
Another major addition is the integration of CrowdStrike threat intelligence. “With real-time, high-fidelity IOCs now built into Stellar Cyber’s ingestion process, MSSPs get more accurate detections and better-informed response without the need for extra tools or parallel intel feeds,” said Hill. “There’s no additional sensor or license overhead - everything is done inside the same workflow, which keeps cost and complexity down while improving outcomes.”
For service providers who compete on efficiency, having threat intelligence woven into the detection and correlation pipeline means less tool sprawl and fewer blind spots, all while maintaining consistent performance across customers.
MSSP-Focused Enhancements
Release 6.1 also brings new features aimed squarely at scaling service provider operations. Multi-tenant ServiceNow workflows and tenant-level license visibility give MSSPs tighter control over service delivery. Providers can now sync alerts and cases across tenants with more precision, exclude inactive tenants, and trigger on-demand syncs when billing-relevant updates need to move immediately.
“With asset- or volume-based licenses, MSSPs can see exactly how usage is distributed across tenants,” Hill noted. “This transparency helps justify charges, reduces noise by syncing only what matters, and lowers overhead. The end result is better billing clarity and smoother scaling across multi-tenant environments.”
For MSSPs, these changes translate directly into operational efficiency and margin protection. They cut down the number of irrelevant tickets, keep reporting aligned with customer usage, and simplify day-to-day management of large, complex environments.
Release 6.1 isn’t just another feature drop. It reflects a shift toward a SOC model where AI handles the heavy lifting but people remain in control. For MSSPs, that means workflows that scale more smoothly. For enterprises, it’s stronger detection without adding headcount. And for analysts, it’s fewer hours spent on manual triage and more on sharpening defenses. The update underscores Stellar Cyber’s push to bring fragmented operations together under one platform and build a SOC that is AI-powered yet firmly human-guided.
