Laminar Delivers Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive Security

Laminar customers now can use the company's Data Security Platform to discover overexposed and unprotected data in Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive, the company said.

That way, Laminar customers can proactively remediate OneDrive and Google Drive risks and protect against data leaks, the company noted.

Laminar Customers Can Secure Data Across Their Digital Landscapes

Along with OneDrive and Google Drive, Laminar's Data Security Platform supports several cloud providers and SaaS applications, including:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Snowflake

  • BigQuery

Organizations can use the Data Security Platform to discover, classify and secure their data as it moves across their digital environments, Laminar stated. The platform provides secure scanning and ensures that data is not removed from customers' environments. It also gives data security and governance teams continuous access to their organizations' data.

Laminar Bolsters Its Portfolio

The OneDrive and Google Drive support announcement comes after Laminar in July 2023 incorporated data access governance (DAG) and data detection and response (DDR) solutions into its Data Security Platform.

Organizations can use the Data Security Platform's DAG solution to control user and machine access to sensitive data and ensure least privilege, Laminar indicated. As a result, the solution helps organizations reduce the risk of data exposure and limit the blast radius from data leaks.

Meanwhile, the Data Security Platform's DDR solution notifies users about data breaches and other security anomalies, Laminar said. By doing so, the solution helps organizations contain threats and minimize their potential damage.

A Closer Look at Laminar

Laminar combines a cloud-native design, artificial intelligence and research to provide organizations with visibility and control that they can use to protect their data, the business said.

The company is owned by zero trust data security company Rubrik, which acquired the business in August 2023. It also has received funding from SentinelOne and other investors.

MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join Laminar's partner program to integrate the company's Data Security Platform and other data security solutions into their portfolios.
