1. Company Launch: IronGate Cybersecurity has launched as a provider of digital forensics, incident response and cybersecurity services to help organizations guard against emerging digital threats and recover faster from breach incidents. IronGate is led by incident response and cyber insurance industry veterans Steve Ramey and Joe DePaul.

2. Product Launch: SCYTHE, a specialist in adversarial emulation and purple teaming, has unveiled its latest version of the SCYTHE Core platform. SCYTHE 4.0 introduces dual-deployment options, supporting agentless and agent-based configurations. This dual support empowers security teams to execute comprehensive emulations across a broad spectrum of IT and OT/ICS assets.

3. Leadership Move: Guidepost Solutions, a company focused on domestic and international investigations, compliance solutions, monitoring and security and technology consulting, has announced the additions of Christopher “Todd” Doss as senior managing director and Matthew A. Corwin as managing director to the firm’s Cybersecurity Consulting practice group. Doss will also serve as the practice group leader.

4. Cybersecurity Education: Kaseya, a provider of unified IT management and security software for managed service providers (MSPs) and small to mid-size businesses (SMBs), has released a certification program to educate students and professionals on remote IT and security management. “Finding good talent ready to contribute on day one is a challenge for our MSP and MSSP customers, and the skills their techs need to know is not being taught in college classes," said Xavier Gonzalez, chief communications officer, told MSSP Alert. "Kaseya’s Remote IT and Security Management (RITSM) certification program provides individuals a baseline understanding of the MSP business so they can excel at an MSP or MSSP."

5. Security Partnership: Packet capture specialist Endace has formed a technical partnership with Elastic, a SIEM and observability platform provider. The partnership between Endace and Elastic brings together the EndaceProb Scalable Hybrid Cloud Packet Capture, Elastic Stack and Elastic Security. It also provides the packet-level network visibility and detailed network metadata that security and IT teams need when responding to security threats and network or application performance issues, the companies said.

6. Funding Boost: British cybersecurity company Goldilock announced that it has secured investment and support from Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Greater New York and New York Angels. The $1.7 million seed round is a significant vote of confidence in Goldilock’s unique, patented, non-IP controlled hardware approach to cybersecurity, the company said.

7. Security Partnership: Netskope, a secure access service edge (SASE) specialist, announced that its strategic alliance with Deloitte has expanded with the addition of Netskope to the Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) by Deloitte platform. The new Netskope module on MXDR by Deloitte will include advanced cloud threat protection capabilities to help clients improve protection against malware and ransomware as well as intelligence enrichment for zero day detection and response.

8. Strategic Investment: Veza, an identity security company, and The Syndicate Group (TSG), a venture capital firm focused on revenue growth and new customer acquisition, have announced a strategic investment.  The funding will be used to accelerate the execution and growth of Veza’s channel partnership program as the company leverages TSG’s growing network of leading channel partners and investors. 

9. Cyberattack Hits MGM Resorts: MGM Resorts International shut down some of its computer systems due to cybersecurity issues on Monday. The casino and hotel company is investigating the matter with assistance from external cybersecurity experts and has informed law enforcement agencies. MGM's official website was also down, with phone numbers provided to reach its hotels and reservation system. (Source: Reuters)
