1. Cybersecurity Partnership: Gaichu Managed Services, a provider of technical solutions in the IT industry, is partnering with High Wire Networks' Overwatch Managed Cybersecurity, a managed cybersecurity services specialist, to offer comprehensive protection for businesses against cyber threats. High Wire Networks delivers managed cybersecurity and technology services across the globe through service providers, resellers, system integrators and manufacturers.

2. Security Acquisition: CYE, a cybersecurity optimization specialist, has acquired Baseline, a vulnerability analysis platform by Cyberillium. CYE will incorporate Baseline's capabilities into its Hyver platform, enabling automated attack route creation and prioritization based on Baseline novel context-aware algorithms.

3. Product Launch: ZeroFox, an enterprise software-as-a-service cybersecurity specialist, has updated its physical security intelligence (PSI) services. New interactive mapping capabilities allow security teams to zero in on physical threats within geographic locations and perform deeper analysis through near real-time alerting and a greater breadth of threat intelligence and geopolitical reporting.

4. Cybersecurity Partnership: Exabeam is expanding its partnership with Google Cloud in the development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models within its cloud-native New-Scale SIEM product portfolio. As a Google Cloud partner, the collaborative development process on Google Cloud generative AI products will accelerate the design of AI-based security product enhancements for Exabeam.

5. University of Michigan Cyberattack: The University of Michigan has been without full internet access for two days after staff shut the school’s connections down in response to a cybersecurity concern on the eve of the new school year. The internet shutdown affected campus IT systems used for research and fundraising, and could delay financial aid reimbursements, the university said this week. The cause of the outage was unclear. The university’s statements suggested malicious cyber activity was to blame. (Source: CNN)

6. Product Launch: Semperis, a provider of identity-driven cyber resilience for enterprises, has announced the introduction of Okta security exposure scanning in its community-driven security assessment tool, Purple Knight. Okta enables the company’s multi-directory support beyond the widely used Microsoft identity platforms Active Directory and Entra ID (formerly known as Azure AD).

7. Product Launch: NinjaOne, provider of a cloud-native IT management platform for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments, is advancing its platform with new automation capabilities as well as providing more visibility into over five million devices used by its customers worldwide. NinjaOne's Summer 2023 release has delivered major updates across its platform, including improvements to increase productivity, reduce errors and improve operational efficiencies for IT managers on the front lines, the company said.

8. Cybersecurity Education: CYBER.ORG has announced a partnership with Amazon to improve diversity in the cybersecurity industry by building the K-12 talent pipeline. Amazon funded the organization’s Project REACH summer camps nationwide, an initiative to partner with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to increase representation in cybersecurity college programs and careers. Through the 14 Project REACH summer camps in nine states, participating high schools and MSIs joined forces on cybersecurity activities, campus visits, industry mentorship and more.
