1. Security Partnership: D3 Security has announced its participation in the Microsoft Security Copilot Partner Private Preview. Security Copilot is the first AI-powered security product that enables security professionals to respond to threats quickly, process signals at machine speed and assess risk exposure in minutes, D3 said. It combines an advanced large language model (LLM) with a security-specific model that is informed by Microsoft's global threat intelligence and more than 65 trillion daily signals.

2. Industry Recognition: Stellar Cyber, a specialist Open XDR, has won 2023 ASTOR awards in two categories: Best Network Security Solution and Best Unified Incident & Event Management Solution. The awards single out government and vendor solutions that deliver enhanced value, benefit, and intelligence to end users and organizations.

3. Cyber Acquisition: Godspeed Capital Management LP, a lower middle market defense and government services, solutions and technology focused private equity firm, has announced the acquisition of Cyberspace Solutions LLC (“CSS”) by its intelligence, AI/ML and data analytics platform, Crimson Phoenix. Correspondingly, industry finance veteran Scott Crane will join Crimson Phoenix as chief financial officer.

4. Cybersecurity Company Launches: Paladin Capital Group has launched the Paladin Global Institute, with Kemba Walden, former Acting National Cyber Director, joining as president. The Paladin Global Institute will serve as a global convening force, building partnerships and stimulating research and advocacy while working to identify and mitigate cybersecurity, AI and deep tech risks.

5. Security Partnership: BlackDice Holdings Corp., a specialist in AI-powered cybersecurity for the telecom industry, is partnering with Orion Telekom, a Serbia private Internet service provider, to offer the Orion Defend cybersecurity solution. Orion Defend is specifically designed for modern connected homes and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It empowers users with full control and security over every device connected to the network, from laptops and cell phones to smart appliances, cameras, doorbells and baby monitors, the companies stated.

6. Malware Alert: A campaign delivering the AsyncRAT malware to select targets has been active for at least the past 11 months, using hundreds of unique loader samples and more than 100 domains. AsyncRAT is an open-source remote access tool (RAT) for Windows, with functions for remote command execution, keylogging, data exfiltration and dropping additional payloads. The tool has been heavily used by cybercriminals over the years for establishing a foothold on the target, stealing files and data and deploying additional malware. (Source: Bleeping Computer)

7. Airport Cyberattack: The information display screens at Beirut’s international airport were hacked by domestic anti-Hezbollah groups on Sunday, as clashes between the Lebanese militant group and the Israeli military continue to intensify along the border. Departure and arrival information was replaced by a message accusing the Hezbollah group of putting Lebanon at risk of an all-out war with Israel. (Source: Associated Press)
