Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Bot Bounty Program: DataDome, a provider of AI-powered online fraud and bot management, has opened its bot bounty program to the public in partnership with ethical hacking platform YesWeHack. This initiative incentivizes an extended community of external researchers to rigorously test DataDome's protection in order to identify any potential vulnerabilities. In this technical challenge, participants are encouraged to implement a scraping bot to scrape as much content as possible from two dedicated websites without being blocked by DataDome's solution, the company said.

2. AI Discovery Advancement: Legit Security, an application security posture management (ASPM) platform provider, has launched its new AI discovery capabilities. Legit is helping bridge the gap between security and development by enabling chief information security officers and applications security teams to understand where and when AI code is used and take action to ensure proper security controls are in place, without slowing software delivery.

3. Cybersecurity Education: ISC2, a nonprofit member organization for cybersecurity professionals, has announced a partnership with IBM to launch the IBM and ISC2 Cybersecurity Specialist Professional Certificate. Candidates with no previous experience can obtain the in-demand skills and hands-on experience required for a cybersecurity specialist role in four months. Additionally, OPSWAT has launched a $10 million scholarship program that offers essential critical infrastructure protection (CIP) training courses. 

4. Smart SOAR Integration: D3 Security, a specialist in smart security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR), has announced that its Smart SOAR software now integrates with the AI-native CrowdStrike Falcon XDR platform to accelerate response to modern threats. The integration provides security teams and managed service providers with the ability to automate response actions on the Falcon platform across alert triage, data enrichment and incident response, streamlining security operations and investigations, the company said.

5. Identity Partner Program: 1Password, an identity security specialist, has launched its new global partner program. The initiative provides partners with access to 1Password’s growing security solutions suite, a simplified partner experience and a toolkit of sales, marketing and enablement resources to drive mutual growth. 1Password’s partner program is focused on resellers, distributors, cloud service partners, system integrators and MSPs.

6. Cyber Defense Collective Adds Member: OpenText has been named a member of the U.S. Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC). OpenText will support JCDC's mission to shift the paradigm from reacting to threats and vulnerabilities to proactively planning and taking steps to mitigate them. In addition, the JCDC has released its 2024 priorities.

7. Funding Round: LimaCharlie, a security operations cloud platform provider, has secured a $10.2 million Series A investment round led by Sands Capital with participation from existing investors CoFound Partners, Long Journey Ventures, Lytical Ventures, Myriad Venture Partners, StoneMill Ventures and Strategic Cyber Ventures. As the demand for a flexible, scalable approach to security grows, the funding will accelerate team expansion and introduce new capabilities to the platform, the company said.

8. Hive Ransomware Reward Offered: The U.S. Department of State is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification and/or location of any individual(s) who hold a key leadership position in the Hive ransomware variant transnational organized crime group. In addition, a reward of up to $5 million is offered for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of any individual in any country conspiring to participate in or attempting to participate in Hive ransomware activity.

9. Funding Round: Bugcrowd has secured $102 million in strategic growth financing to scale its AI-powered crowdsourced security platform offerings globally. The funding is led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors Rally Ventures and Costanoa Ventures. The additional capital enables Bugcrowd to accelerate growth across EMEA, APAC and the United States, fund continued innovation into the Bugcrowd Platform and leverage opportunities for strategic acquisitions, the company said.
