Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance solutions provider, has unveiled Cloud Account Defense (CAD) for Microsoft Office 365 users.
CAD protects Office 365 users, data and financial assets on all networks and devices, according to a
prepared statement. By doing so, the solution enables security teams to detect and investigate compromised Office 365 accounts and combat email account compromise (EAC) credential theft tactics.
What Does CAD Offer Security Teams?
Key features of CAD include:
- Behavioral Analytics: Monitor unusual or suspicious user activity that may indicate brute-force automated credential guessing.
- Data Analysis: Use threat intelligence to establish safe baseline behaviors, detect compromised accounts and flag suspicious behavior.
- Granular Forensics: Prioritize security alerts based on severity to prevent alert fatigue.
- Policy Support: Develop security policies based on user, location, network, device, suspicious activity and other parameters.
CAD can be deployed across the entire Office 365 suite, according to Proofpoint. It enables security teams to identify Office 365 threats that often go undetected and address these dangers before they cause financial or data loss.
Proofpoint Appoints Citrix Veteran as COO
In addition to launching CAD, Proofpoint this week named Klaus Oestermann as its president and chief operating officer.
Oestermann spent more than 17 years at
Citrix Systems, where he served as SVP and GM of the company's delivery networks division and held senior positions in its sales and services organization in both EMEA and the United States. Prior to joining Citrix, Oestermann was managing director at managed IT and data center services provider
CMA Systems and held various roles at
IBM.
Also, Eric Hahn, chairman of Proofpoint's board of directors, has announced his retirement. Proofpoint CEO Gary Steele will replace Hahn as chairman, and current board member Dana Evan will assume the role of lead independent director for the company.
