Qumulo has integrated its file data platform with the Varonis Data Security Platform and unveiled a new Snapshot-Locking capability designed to protect its customers against ransomware attacks.

Varonis CTO David Bass, in a prepared statement, commented on his company's partnership with Qumulo:

"We're pleased to be teaming with Qumulo to provide greater visibility and control for companies looking to secure their critical data and proactively help mitigate the impact of a potential attack."

Qumulo and Varonis Partnership Takes Aim Against Ransomware

Together, Qumulo and Varonis are providing an end-to-end solution that gives organizations real-time visibility and control over their cloud and on-premises data while automatically remediating risk, the companies said. The solution offers enterprise IT organizations "a simple, secure and scalable way to manage data anywhere," according to the companies.

The solution uses Varonis' behavior-based threat models to detect abnormal activity across organizations' cloud and on-premises environments, Qumulo said. That way, they are well equipped to stop cyberattacks before they cause data breaches.

Furthermore, Varonis uses Qumulo's APIs and granular audit logging to monitor user logins, permissions changes and file and folder activity to identify suspicious activity, the businesses said.

Meanwhile, the solution utilizes cryptographically locking snapshots to secure data, Qumulo saidd. This prevents cybercriminals from infecting organizations' customer data.

Commenting on his company's integration with Varonis, Qumulo Chief Technology Officer Kiran Bhageshpur said:

"Securing unstructured data can be very challenging due to its sheer volume, and the expansive number of places it is stored and used by companies. Our new integration with Varonis will help our customers have complete visibility into where their most valuable data and key vulnerabilities are, especially for threats like ransomware."

A Closer Look at Qumulo and Varonis

Qumulo helps organizations manage unstructured data across disparate environments, the company said. Organizations can use Qumulo's file data platform to manage, store and share file data. Qumulo also provides a channel partner program.

Varonis provides a Data Security Platform that helps organizations detect internal and external threats and lock down their data, the business said. It offers the Varonis Partner Program, which allows MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to leverage its platform and incorporate its capabilities into their portfolios.
