Salt Security, a Palo Alto, California-based API security provider, is engaged in an initiative to flesh out its channel partner ecosystem that could include new relationships with managed security service providers (MSSPs) and managed service providers (MSPs).
While Salt maintains channel relationships with 19 channel partners only a handful are engaged in managed security services. The company is currently “exploring strategic MSSP relationships as it builds out its full ecosystem,” Mandy Kelley, Salt’s global director of channel marketing, told MSSP Alert in an email.
Salt maintains partnerships with 30 technology partners, including cloud service vendors Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
Channel Program Buildout
In the past 12 months, Salt said it has grown its channel program, expanded coverage globally and has now unwrapped a partner certification program, adding to the support it offers to partners. The company, which positions itself as a channel-first provider, has also added regional partners in Africa, the Middle East, Italy, and Latin America.
Salt said it has these accomplishments to its credit in the past year:
- 150% increase in active partners worldwide
- 94% increase in partner-initiated pipeline
- Over 400% increase in deal registrations
- Market expansion in southern Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Latin America
- Essential Partner Certification Program
Training and Tiers
Salt said it has included training into its Essential Partner Certification Program, which includes online sales and technical training support. The API security specialist said the certification program benefits the Salt partner community by supporting education and building key technical and sales skills.
The Salt Essential Partner Program itself includes two tiers: Authorized and Professional Partner. Both levels have access to a library of API security resources to assist in sales and joint marketing efforts, as well as in-depth technical training about top API security vulnerabilities and the Salt Security API Protection Platform.
