Scammers target iPhone 18 launch with fake websites

Scammers are attempting to capitalize on the hype surrounding the new iPhone 18 models by creating fake websites with nonexistent offers designed to deceive users, based on information published by TahawulTech.

Kaspersky experts have identified fraudulent websites in multiple languages, including English and Arabic, promoting fake deals for the new iPhone 18. These sites often feature realistic interfaces, offering discounts and various payment methods, including Bitcoin. One scam website entices users to "purchase" devices with a 25% discount, while another allows pre-orders for models with colors and storage capacities not officially announced by Apple.

To lure victims, these sites request extensive personal information, such as full name, phone number, email, city, and WhatsApp details, before asking for bank card information. The ultimate goal is to steal personal data and drain victims' bank accounts. Olga Altukhova, Senior Web Content Analyst at Kaspersky, advises consumers to be extremely cautious, shop only through official retailers, and treat offers that seem too good to be true as warning signs.
