Arctic Wolf, a Top 40 managed detection and response (MDR) security company, has announced plans to purchase Revelstoke for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 280 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.

Arctic Wolf, founded in 2012, is based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The company has 2,204 employees listed on LinkedIn. Arctic Wolf's areas of expertise include MDR, cloud detection and response and cloud security posture management.

Revelstoke, founded in 2020, is based in Campbell, California. The company has 57 employees listed on LinkedIn. Revelstoke specializes in security automation.

Arctic Wolf Enhances Its Security Operations Cloud

With the acquisition, Security Operations Cloud users can utilize Revelstoke's security automation technology to detect threats faster than ever before, Arctic Wolf said.

In addition, Arctic Wolf will combine its artificial intelligence and machine learning models with Revelstoke's integrations of AI technologies and large language models (LLMs), the business stated. This will allow Arctic Wolf to deliver next-generation security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) capabilities.

Arctic Wolf Extends Its Global Reach

The Revelstoke acquisition announcement comes after Arctic Wolf has made several moves to expand globally in 2023, including:

  • Offering its Incident Response (IR) JumpStart Retainer and other IR services and support in the EMEA and ANZ markets
  • Opening a local data center in Australia
  • Providing its Security Operations Warranty to eligible customers in Europe and ANZ

A Closer Look at Arctic Wolf

Arctic Wolf offers a Security Operations Cloud that ingests and analyzes more than 4.5 trillion security events per week, according to the company. Along with this, Arctic Wolf provides an IR solution and other security solutions.

MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join Arctic Wolf's partner program. By doing so, they can use Arctic Wolf's technologies to deliver MDR, IR and other security services.
