AirMDR Raises $15.5M for Scalable AI-Driven MDR, MSSPs benefit

AirMDR has raised $15.5 million in funding to expand its AI-native managed detection and response (MDR) platform, this time with a sharper focus on MSSPs, according to SecurityWeek. Backed by Race Capital, Foundation Capital, and Storm Ventures, the company plans to use the capital to enhance its AI capabilities and scale its channel strategy, positioning itself as an enabler for service providers looking to offer high-value MDR without building it all in-house.

AirMDR’s hybrid approach blends autonomous AI analysts with 24/7 human oversight. For MSSPs, that means they can deliver real-time alert triage and response with built-in redundancy and transparency, without having to staff or scale a full security operations center. The company’s AI handles initial investigations and response, while human experts validate results, helping MSSPs maintain speed and accuracy at scale.

The platform also offers prebuilt, automated playbooks and an interface that allows MSSPs to run investigations, track activity, and respond to clients with clear, documented actions. Everything is logged for visibility, which can streamline compliance reporting and client communication—two pain points for many providers.

With fresh funding in hand, AirMDR plans to invest heavily in partner enablement, improve AI accuracy, and support MSSPs with go-to-market tools and resources. As more service providers look to offer MDR as a core security service, AirMDR sees an opportunity to help them move fast, keep costs predictable, and deliver enterprise-grade protection to mid-market clients.
