Bitdefender has added its MDR services to its European Sovereign Acceleration Program, extending the initiative beyond security technology and data hosting into 24x7 security operations. Customer data, telemetry, security events, investigations, and response activity will remain within the European Union.The MDR service will be delivered from Bitdefender’s security operations center in Romania and will run through its GravityZone platform. The service combines threat monitoring, hunting, investigation, and incident containment with endpoint, XDR, cloud security, and risk analytics capabilities. Bitdefender said its analysts, engineering teams and threat researchers will operate within the same EU-based delivery model.The expansion comes as European organizations face growing scrutiny over where security data is stored, processed and accessed. GDPR, NIS2 and DORA are pushing public-sector organizations and regulated industries to examine the jurisdiction of their cybersecurity providers, including the location of SOC teams and the systems used during an incident. Bitdefender is targeting financial services, healthcare, critical infrastructure, energy and manufacturing customers that need tighter control over security operations data.Bitdefender is also offering migration support and contract buyouts for qualifying organizations moving from other providers. The program gives the company a clearer route into European MDR accounts where sovereignty has become part of the buying decision, while giving customers an operating model that keeps detection, investigation, and response under EU jurisdiction.
