Cork Cyber is expanding its automated vulnerability remediation capabilities for managed service providers (MSPs), reporting more than 50,000 remediation runs across approximately 250,000 devices since launching the technology in September. The company states its platform can automatically resolve 64% of open software vulnerabilities, helping MSP partners reclaim approximately 5,100 technician hours that would otherwise be spent addressing routine security issues, according to a recent report by Channel Insider.
The expansion addresses a critical challenge for MSPs: balancing the need to strengthen customer security with the development of new services, such as those involving artificial intelligence. Third-party software vulnerabilities are identified as a significant threat, with attackers increasingly targeting overlooked applications and configurations.
Verizon's 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report indicates that exploited vulnerabilities account for 31% of breaches, and Cork's own analysis found that about one in nine open software vulnerabilities had already been exploited.
Cork's automated remediation aims to resolve critical vulnerabilities within hours, a significant improvement over the estimated 1.5 to two months typically required by MSPs. This automation frees up technician time, allowing MSPs to redirect resources toward higher-value customer engagements rather than expanding headcount for routine security tasks. The company has integrated these capabilities into RMM platforms used by MSPs, covering over 13,000 software titles.
