Kaspersky Next Optimum enhances SMB cybersecurity with new modules

A person holds a smartphone displaying a digital interface with icons representing small businesses. A prominent shield icon with a checkmark signifies security and protection for these businesses. This visual concept highlights safety, trust, and business assurance in the digital age.

Kaspersky has updated its flagship Kaspersky Next product line, introducing new Security Modules to its Optimum tier. This enhancement aims to improve the defenses of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) by allowing them to add specialized protection without overhauling their existing technology infrastructure, as outlined in TahawulTech.

Kaspersky's research indicates that SMBs commonly face phishing attacks (20%) and software-vulnerability exploits (17%). To address these and other evolving threats, Kaspersky Next Optimum now offers five new Security Modules: Security Awareness, Email Security, Workload Security, Threat Lookup & Analysis, and Vulnerability Management. These modules allow SMBs to incrementally strengthen critical risk areas, such as reducing user-error risks, blocking email-borne threats, protecting hybrid-cloud environments, accelerating incident response, and streamlining vulnerability identification. The update also includes built-in simulated phishing campaigns and compromised-credential insights.

Previously exclusive to higher tiers, simulated phishing is now available in EDR Foundations due to customer demand. Furthermore, Kaspersky Next MXDR Optimum integrates expert-driven threat hunting powered by Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence to detect account compromises earlier. Management capabilities have been optimized for mobile devices, and incident notifications are now more detailed and accessible via Telegram. The product line also introduces a flexible console management system, allowing a seamless transition from a simplified Pro View to a more granular Expert View.
