The emergence of powerful frontier AI models has fundamentally dismantled core cybersecurity assumptions, necessitating a rapid evolution in defensive strategies to counter autonomous threats, as noted by CRN.
During his keynote at the OneCon 2026 conference in Las Vegas, SentinelOne CEO Tomer Weingarten stated that security teams can no longer rely on the premise that attackers are human or that defenders have hours to respond to intrusions. The rise of autonomous AI agents, which can execute actions without human oversight, has created an environment where threats occur at unprecedented speed and scale. To address these risks, SentinelOne announced the Singularity Agentic Detection and Response platform, designed to govern AI agent access and halt harmful behavior.
Furthermore, the company introduced its Purple Security Superintelligence, a system of models integrated into the new Singularity Autonomous Security Operations Center. This technology aims to automate investigation and response, potentially reducing forensic analysis times from minutes to milliseconds. Weingarten emphasized that while these systems must operate faster than human teams, they remain under the control of human analysts. The industry shift reflects a broader need for security infrastructure that can keep pace with AI-driven attacks, ensuring that organizations can safely leverage advanced technology without compromising their digital integrity.
