Cobalt has launched a program that lets channel partners integrate its penetration testing-as-a-service (PtaaS) platform into their offerings, according to a prepared statement.

The program provides partners with referral fees, discounts and go-to-market benefits, Cobalt said. It also lets partners showcase their businesses' PtaaS offerings via guest blog posts on Cobalt's website, custom co-branded documentation, joint marketing campaigns and other promotional opportunities.

Cobalt has already signed 14 partners and received over 35 referrals, the company indicated. Inaugural program partners include Secureframe, Tugboat Logic and Vanta.

Cobalt partners can leverage the company's PtaaS platform to conduct on-demand hacker-powered penetration tests, the company noted. In doing so, they can use pentests to identify vulnerabilities across customer environments and help their customers meet security and compliance requirements.

Furthermore, Cobalt's platform lets partners communicate with pentesters, the company indicated. It ensures that partners can work with pentesters to evaluate penetration test findings and find ways to minimize risk across customer environments.

What Does the Partner Program Mean for Cobalt?

The partner program puts Cobalt in a strong position to capitalize on the rising demand for penetration testing services globally.

Global penetration testing market revenues are projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 21.8 percent between 2020 and 2025, industry analyst Markets and Markets indicated. They could reach $4.5 billion by 2025.

In addition, the partner program launch comes following "explosive growth" for Cobalt in 2020, the company said. Some of Cobalt's achievements last year included:

  • 75 percent annual recurring revenue growth
  • 50 percent increase in employee headcount
  • Addition of more than 350 new customers

Cobalt intends to add 100 full-time employees in 2021, the company stated. It also plans to build out strategic relationships to ensure the long-term success to its partners and customers.
