Sumo Logic, a log management and security analytics company, has launched the Practice Builder program for MSPs and MSSPs. Practice Builder allows MSPs and MSSPs to use Sumo Logic's Continuous Intelligence Platform to secure their customers' on-premises and cloud environments, the company said.

The goal: Enable MSPs and MSSPs to build a cloud-native security practice without a capital investment or infrastructure to manage, according to the company. The program provides MSPs and MSSPs with real-time security intelligence and allows them to leverage security information and event management (SIEM) solutions to secure customer applications.

Furthermore, Practice Builder provides MSPs and MSSPs with access to modules such as training, enablement, best practices and new licensing and go-to-market models, Sumo Logic stated. In doing so, Practice Builder helps MSPs and MSSPs bolster their cybersecurity expertise and promote their security practices to prospects and customers.

Growing Security Alerts Drive Demand for SIEM Solutions

Interest in SIEM solutions is increasing, but better technology is needed to help MSPs and MSSPs manage growing security alert volumes, according to Sumo Logic's "2020 State of SecOps and Automation" report.

Key findings from Sumo Logic's report include:

  • 99 percent of IT security professionals said high volumes of alerts cause problems for IT security teams.
  • 83 percent indicated their staff experiences "alert fatigue."
  • 70 percent said the volume of security alerts has more than doubled in the past five years.

Furthermore, 88 percent of IT security professionals said they face challenges with their current SIEM solution, Sumo Logic's report indicated. The report also revealed that 99 percent of respondents stated they would benefit from additional SIEM automation capabilities, and 84 percent see many advantages in a cloud-native SIEM for cloud or hybrid environments.
