Strata Identity, which specializes in identity orchestration for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) platform provider HYPR have launched a joint solution that allows phishing-resistant MFA to be added to any application without rewriting its source code.

Together, Strata and HYPR remove the need for organizations to rewrite their legacy applications and systems to support passwordless authentication, Strata CEO Eric Olden stated. They also simplify the process for organizations to deploy passwordless authentication across their IT environments.

How the Strata-HYPR Joint Solution Works

Organizations can use Strata's Maverics identity orchestration platform in conjunction with HYPR's True Passwordless security platform for on-premises and cloud identity systems, the companies said. Maverics identity orchestration capabilities that allow an organization to insert HYPR registration and end-user into its existing application access workflows.

The joint solution uses an abstraction layer that decouples identity and authentication from an identity system and applications. In doing so, the solution delivers "the strongest levels of authentication security," the companies said.

Strata Joins Cloud Security Alliance, Hires Former Okta Executive

The HYPR partnership comes after Strata in December 2022 joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a global organization that focuses on defining and raising awareness of best practices to secure cloud environments. Strata will work with other CSA members to develop and launch initiatives relating to identity orchestration and the open-source Identity Query Language (IDQL) standard, the company said.

Previously, Strata in October 2022 hired former Okta executive Chris Veith to lead its global systems integrator (SI) partner program. Veith is helping Strata foster new relationships with SIs and other technology providers and further enhance its existing partner relationships, the company indicated.

Strata offers "distributed identity management" to help organizations manage all of their user identities across apps and clouds, the company noted. It provides a partner program that allows MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to incorporate its Maverics platform into their offerings.
