ActZero, a provider of managed detection and response (MDR) services for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), has struck a deal with UScellular designed to protect smaller organizations from ransomware and phishing attacks.

The company said the agreement makes UScellular the first and only telecom carrier to offer the ActZero managed detection and response service to make it easier for SMBs to secure mobile devices from malware attacks, the partners said. UScellular Business Ultimate and Business Premium unlimited handset plans now include ActZero MDR for Mobile.

Always-on Threat Coverage and More

ActZero brings to UScellular the following benefits:

  • 24/7 threat coverage to stop breaches on mobile devices and networks, with a 90% block rate and response time of 15 minutes for critical alerts.
  • Customers can deploy ActZero MDR for Mobile within minutes to their employees' iOS, Android, or Chrome mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • On-device protection and real-time notifications eliminate delays if a mobile device is compromised.
  • ActZero's patent-pending AI means better cyber defense and fewer false alarms.

ActZero CEO Sameer Bhalotra explained how the deal will bring better performance and security to businesses at a fair price:

"With ActZero's on-device cyber defense technology plus 24x7 security operations staff, UScellular business customers can stop mobile threats quickly, before they spread into the corporate network."

Kim Kerr, senior vice president of Enterprise Sales and Operations for UScellular, explained how the carrier’s customers often lack resources to protect themselves from cyberattacks:

"ActZero delivers a powerful and affordable cybersecurity service businesses need to prioritize threat and vulnerability management. Our customers often don't have the IT resources to ensure they are protecting their network and devices from malware, phishing, and ransomware attacks. The unique artificial intelligence and machine learning from ActZero intelligently pinpoints threats so less time is spent filtering noise and more time is focused on the action that should be taken, when it's truly important."

ActZero Upgrades MDR Platform

Last February, ActZero rolled out a newly designed MDR platform dashboard that gives customers a real-time and holistic picture of their IT ecosystem and users. Critical metrics, such as the ransomware block rate and average mean-time-to-first-response rate, along with real-time reporting, provide the actionable intelligence for validating the cybersecurity team investment and continuous efforts to improve security, the company said.
