EDR-MDR Integration: Cybereason, Smarttech247 Ink Security Partnership

Cybereason and Smarttech247 have partnered to integrate endpoint detection and response (EDR) with managed detection and response (MDR) capabilities.

The result: Joint customers now can use Cybereason and Smarttech247 security capabilities to detect and address cyberattacks on endpoints across their networks, the two businesses assert.

In addition, Cybereason and Smarttech247 together deliver artificial intelligence-based managed security services equipped with threat prevention, detection and remediation capabilities, the companies said. These services enable organizations to safeguard their data assets against ransomware attacks and other malicious activities.

Cybereason Partners with Cyderes, Acquires Empow

The Smarttech247 pact comes after Cybereason in July 2021 announced an MDR partnership with Cyderes, the security-as-a-service (SECaaS) division of Fishtech Group and a Top 250 MSSP. Together, the companies are delivering a solution that combines Cybereason's EDR, antivirus and threat hunting capabilities with Cyderes' MDR expertise.

Furthermore, Cybereason in July 2021 purchased Empow, an Israeli security analytics company. Cybereason has integrated Empow's predictive response technology and out-of-the-box data integrations into its extended detection and response (XDR) offerings.

Cybereason looks poised to extend its reach in the EDR, XDR endpoint protection markets. The company added $275 million in July 2021 in a Series F funding round and will use this funding to expand its EDR, XDR and endpoint protection software business.

Also, Cybereason bolstered its leadership team in 2021 with the following hires:

  • Abigail Maines as VP of commercial and channel sales for North America
  • Stephan Tallent as VP of MSSPs for North America
  • Ahmed Saleh as VP of incident response services

These hires could help Cybereason further accelerate its growth.
