ThreatBlockr, GreyNoise Partner to Protect Against False Positives

ThreatBlockr has brought to market an integration that allows its customers to use the GreyNoise RIOT (Rule It Out) analogous whitelist data set to monitor 60 million known good IP addresses and reduce their risk of false positive security alerts, according to the companies.

Commenting on the GreyNoise integration,  ThreatBlockr Chief Technology Officer Pat McGarry said:

"False positives can often cause disruptions and wasted time, which can lead to security controls being deactivated and open the floodgates for bad actors. By incorporating GreyNoise into our platform, we are significantly reducing this risk and are able to mitigate false positives while still maintaining security on the rest of the network."

How ThreatBlockr Customers Can Use the GreyNoise Integration

RIOT informs ThreatBlockr customers about IPs used by common business services that are unlikely to attack networks, the company said. It enables security practitioners to eliminate security logs and events generated from business services.

GreyNoise releases updates to the RIOT list several times a day, the business noted. This allows ThreatBlockr customers to access the most current and accurate security data from GreyNoise.

In addition to its current GreyNoise integration, ThreatBlockr plans to incorporate GreyNoise's separate malicious data feeds into its cyber threat intelligence and defense platform, the business indicated. This will provide ThreatBlockr customers with access to GreyNoise data that can help them identify and block likely malicious traffic in real time and further protect against false positives.

MSSP Engaged Security Partners Announces ThreatBlockr Integration

In March 2023, Engaged Security Partners began using ThreatBlockr's platform for threat intelligence management, the companies said. Engaged's customers can use this platform to block malicious traffic and reduce the risk of human errors that contribute to cyberattacks and data breaches. Furthermore, ThreatBlockr's platform enables Engaged’s customers to use threat intelligence to find ways to stop threats before they can infiltrate their networks.

To date, ThreatBlockr has launched integrations with GreyNoise, Engaged, UbiStor and other cybersecurity companies. ThreatBlockr also offers a partner program that allows MSPs to "monitor and manage multiple customers and connect ThreatBlockr's open threat intelligence solution to any security tool," the business indicated.
