Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) users now can use the Stellar Cyber Open eXtended detection and response (XDR) Platform to manage their security operations, according to a prepared statement.

OCI customers can purchase Open XDR via the Oracle Cloud Marketplace and apply Oracle Universal Credits (OUCs) toward the purchase price, the companies said.

Stellar Cyber Automates Security Tasks for OCI Users

Oracle and Stellar Cyber empower OCI users to reduce their cyber risk and improve security analyst efficiency and effectiveness, the companies said.

OCI users can access Open XDR's integrations and support for enterprise data sources, artificial intelligence- and machine learning-driven correlation and intelligent automation capabilities, Stellar Cyber stated. That way, they can monitor, identify and respond to threats across their cloud, on-premises, operational technology (OT) and hybrid environments.

Explaining the relevance to MSPs and MSSPs, Andrew Homer, vice president of Technology Alliances at Stellar Cyber. said:

"MSPs and MSSPs offering multi-cloud services now have a means to unify cybersecurity offerings across customer hybrid-cloud deployments. By Oracle partnering with Stellar Cyber, MSP / MSSPs can now leverage Open XDR through Stellar Cyber's integration with all common cloud platforms, Amazon, Azure, Google and Oracle."

Stellar Cyber Upgrades Open XDR Platform

The OCI partnership announcement comes after Stellar Cyber in July 2023 added OT security capabilities to Open XDR.

With the upgrade, Open XDR users can use one platform to protect their IT and OT environments, Stellar Cyber said. They also can identify cybercriminals that try to exploit weaknesses and vulnerabilities in IT environments and move laterally into OT environments, and vice versa.

Stellar Cyber's Partner Community Continues to Grow

Along with Oracle, Stellar Cyber has established several new partnerships or expanded existing ones in 2023. These partnerships include:

  • Hitachi Solutions started incorporating security log data generated by its HIBUN data leakage protection solution users into Open XDR in July 2023.
  • Endida began using Open XDR to power its threat detection and response services in June 2023.
  • Mimecast has been letting Mimecast Email Security solution users monitor email traffic, identify suspicious emails and automatically share alert data with Stellar Cyber since June 2023.

What MSSPs Need to Know About Stellar Cyber's Open XDR Platform

Open XDR is a multi-tenant platform that combines security capabilities with automation, Stellar Cyber said. In doing so, the platform provides MSSPs with the ability to deliver various security services without adding staff to their security operations teams.

MSSPs can use Open XDR to deliver security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS), managed detection and response-as-a-service (MDRaaS) and other offerings, Stellar Cyber stated.

Stellar Cyber also integrates with every major endpoint detection and response (EDR) tool, the company noted.
