MSSP ControlScan Appoints Director of Security Consulting Services

ControlScan, a Top 100 MSSP that specializes in managed security and compliance solutions, has appointed Sam Pfanstiel as its director of security consulting services. Pfanstiel will help ControlScan provide consulting and assessment services for payment solution technologies.

Pfanstiel has over two decades of senior IT management and payment security experience. He most recently served as principal security consultant for cyber assurance services at cyber risk management advisor Coalfire and has held leadership roles at S4F, Diverge and Bluefin Payment Systems.

Furthermore, Pfanstiel is vice-chair of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Risk, Fraud and Security Committee. He also contributes his security subject matter expertise to the ETA Mobile Payments Committee, Conexxus Data Security Standards Committee (DSSC), PCI Mobile Task Force and various other PCI Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

ControlScan Partners with BCM One

In addition to its Pfanstiel hire, ControlScan last month announced a partnership with managed IT operations company BCM One. The partnership enables BCM One partners to provide the following ControlScan security solutions:

  • Unified threat management (UTM) firewall.
  • Managed Wi-Fi.
  • Managed detection and response (MDR).
  • Managed endpoint security.
  • Security testing services.
  • PCI compliance services and support.

ControlScan helps organizations secure IT networks and protect payment card data. The MSSP supports thousands of organizations across the United States and Canada and offers a partner program that allows MSPs and independent software vendors (ISVs) to deliver its managed security and PCI compliance services to their customers.
