Fortinet Announces Cybersecurity Training Initiatives

Fortinet will provide cybersecurity skills training to 1 million people globally over the next five years via its Training Advancement Agenda (TAA) initiatives and Network Security Experts (NSE) Training Institute programs, the company says.

The pledge comes after the Biden administration and private sector leaders in August 2021 announced several initiatives in response to the worldwide cybersecurity skills shortage.

The TAA and NSE Training Institute programs are designed to address the global cybersecurity skills shortage, Fortinet indicated. They provide cybersecurity training and certifications, career growth resources and hiring opportunities to people around the world.

Fortinet works closely with managed security services providers, and many of those MSSPs tap the cybersecurity company for ongoing training.

Fortinet Cybersecurity Training: More Areas of Emphasis

Along with its TAA and NSE Training Institute programs, Fortinet delivers other cybersecurity skills development offerings, including:

  • Education Outreach Program: Provides opportunities for training, certification and connecting individuals with the Fortinet employer ecosystem to help close the cybersecurity skills gap.
  • NSE Certification Program: Offers an eight-level training and certification program to provide technical professionals with independent validation of their network security skills and experience.
  • Information Security Awareness and Training Service: Teaches people about phishing, social engineering, ransomware attacks and other current and emerging cyber threats and how to protect against them.
  • Operational Technology Security Course: Encompasses training and certifications for anyone exploring a career in OT security roles in alignment with National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) cybersecurity workforce roles.

Fortinet also provides free NSE cybersecurity training courses.
