Siemplify Hires Roger Egan as VP of Global Sales

Siemplify has hired Docker, Red Hat and IBM veteran Roger Egan as VP of global sales, MSSP Alert has confirmed. The move is quite strategic for the SOAR (security orchestration, automation and response) software provider and its emerging partner ecosystem.

Egan has extensive experience in recurring revenue and subscription business models, thanks to his time at Red Hat and Docker. He also has financial services sector know-how from his days at IBM.

Egan is expected to join Siemplify in time for the Black Hat 2019 conference, which is set for August in Las Vegas.

Siemplify, meanwhile, has been building out a channel partner program led by Bradd Barmettler -- a veteran of Carbon Black, Cisco Systems, Sourcefire and Symantec.

Barmettler has focused intensively on MSSP (managed security services provider) relationships, among other areas. According to his LinkedIn profile: "Leading enterprises and MSSPs leverage Siemplify as their SOC workbench, tripling analyst productivity by automating repetitive tasks and bringing together disparate security technologies."

Siemplify Growth, Funding

Siemplify was founded in 2015 by Israeli Intelligence experts who previously ran or trained security operations centers (SOCs) worldwide. The company grew 280 percent in 2018 vs. 2017. Still, actual revenue figures (in dollars) and profit figures have not been disclosed.

It sounds like roughly three or four companies from a recent Gartner Magic Quadrant for MSSPs leverage the company’s software. True believers in the company include Castle Ventures, an MSSP that specializes in data and infrastructure security.

Siemplify in May 2019 raised $30 million in Series C funding led by Georgian Partners. The money arrived around the time that rivals such as Sumo Logic raised $110 million and Exabeam raised $75 million.
