Trustwave, a Top 250 MSSP owned by telecommunications company Singtel, has hired Eric Harmon as its CEO. Harmon succeeds Art Wong, who is stepping down after leading Trustwave as CEO since 2018.

Harmon most recently was as an advisor to TrustWave's SecureTrust security and compliance solutions division. Prior to joining SecureTrust, Harmon was EVP of IT services provider DXC and managed the company's $25 billion portfolio, Trustwave noted.

In addition, Harmon has held leadership roles at HP Enterprise Services and McKinsey. In those roles, Harmon managed the companies' chief technology office, global solutions and performance management responsibilities, Trustwave indicated.

What Does the Harmon Hire Mean for Trustwave?

The Harmon hire could help Trustwave accelerate its growth in the global cybersecurity market, said Stuart Harvey, chairman of the company's board and executive committee. Furthermore, the hire comes as Trustwave recently has made several moves to bolster its cybersecurity portfolio.

Trustwave in September 2020 began offering its Fusion security platform to U.S. government agencies and suppliers via Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud. Fusion provides the first U.S.-only managed threat detection and response services hosted on AWS GovCloud, Trustwave stated.

Earlier, Trustwave launched its Trustwave Security Testing Services to help government agencies and enterprises leverage security scanning and testing capabilities across their IT environments. Trustwave also released its Microsoft Azure Threat Detection and Response services to help organizations secure their cloud environments.

Trustwave: MSSP Focus and Reach

Trustwave offers threat hunting, security technology management and other managed security services. It employs at least 2,000 cybersecurity professionals and has established partnerships with FireEye, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point Software Technologies and other cybersecurity providers.
