BT (formerly British Telecommunications), the London-based telecom carrier, has launched a privileged identity managed security service purpose-built on CyberArk’s identity security platform.

The collaboration, which has produced BT’s global Managed Identity Privileged Access Management, is being called by BT the “first-of-its-kind” for its customers in that it delivers “scalable and effective” cybersecurity risk reduction.

Each company gets something valuable for their businesses out of the arrangement. BT gets privileged identity managed security service to add to its managed services business, while CyberArk significantly extends the geographic reach of its platform.

Natalie Walker, BT security portfolio director, explained how the deal will gain BT customers “peace of mind”:

“The CyberArk Identity Security Platform, coupled with our managed service, will help simplify the monitoring and control of privileged access for our customers’ on-premises, cloud and hybrid infrastructures. Our accredited experts and 24x7 support give customers peace of mind that their privileged identities are secure.”

What the BT/CyberArk Managed Security Service Offers

The BT/CyberArk managed security service offers the following features:

  • With identity-based cyberattacks on the rise, protecting against the compromise of the human and machine credentials that allow access to critical data and assets is a priority for every organization.
  • The new privileged access management service addresses this issue with a SaaS-based cybersecurity solution to keep the business and its most valuable assets secure.
  • CyberArk applies intelligent privilege controls to all identities, human and machine, with continuous threat detection and prevention across the entire identity lifecycle.
  • Organizations can enable zero trust and least privilege with complete visibility, ensuring that every identity can securely access any resource, located anywhere, from everywhere.

Chris Moore, CyberArk senior vice president of Global Channels, explained how the deal helps customers looking to address the cyber skills gap:

“Partnering with managed service provider partners like BT is critical to extending the reach of CyberArk’s Identity Security offerings and helps meet growing demand from customers that need help with addressing the cyber skills gap. This launch extends CyberArk’s proactive identity-centric approach to mitigating cyber risk across BT’s global customer base.”

This managed service is now available in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, U.S. and Canada.

CyberArk Announces IMPACT 23 Conference

Separately, CyberArk announced details of its IMPACT 23 conference, the company’s annual summit dedicated to strategies and technologies for defending against identity-based cyberattacks. The conference will take place at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston from May 22-24.

Matt Cohen, CyberArk chief executive, said the Impact 23 conference is fully focused on identity security:

“While other conferences may focus on identity management or governance, CyberArk IMPACT is 100 percent focused on Identity Security. In today’s threat landscape, identity is the attack surface, and every identity must be secured in order to protect organizations and their valuable assets.”
