CriticalStart, a Top 100 MSSP and managed detection and response (MDR) services provider, has hired Palo Alto Networks veteran Dwayne Myers as its VP of channels and alliances.

Myers will lead the expansion of CriticalStart's national distributors and network of value-added resellers (VARs) and other channel partners, according to a prepared statement. Among the company's key focus areas: Promoting a SOAR (security orchestration, automation and response) platform for managed security services.

Myers most recently was channel business manager for central United States and Latin America cybersecurity solutions at Palo Alto Networks. He and several other sales leaders have exited Palo Alto Networks in recent months.

Myers earlier ran the Connected Architectures Partner Development program at Cisco, where he was responsible for over $1 billion in Borderless Networks business through partners in the southern United States and Latin America, Critical=Start says.

CriticalStart Raises $40 Million, Adds MDR Services for Microsoft Defender ATP Support

CriticalStart has made multiple business moves in recent months. The company in June 2019 received $40 million from growth equity firm Sagemount to expand U.S. operations.

Furthermore, CriticalStart in April 2019 launched MDR services for Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). The MDR services enable Microsoft Defender ATP users to isolate machines, initiate endpoint scans and triage alerts from native Android and iOS applications.

CriticalStart grew its MDR businesses by more than 300 percent last year. It also maintained a 99 percent customer retention rate during the time frame. Still, the company did not disclose actual revenue dollar figures or clues about profit figures.
