Cyber Security Works (CSW), an MSSP and attack surface and vulnerability management solutions provider, has acquired threat management intellectual property developed by CYR3CON. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 272 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

CYR3CON, which has 20 employees listed on LinkedIn, develops software that combines machine learning and threat intelligence to help organizations predict cyber exploits. CSW will use CYR3CON's capabilities to build out its unified threat and vulnerability management platform, the buyer said.

About Cyber Security Works (CSW)

CSW, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a US Department of Homeland Security–sponsored CVE Numbering Authority and a provider of Attack Surface Management services. The company has discovered more than 50 zero days in products from Oracle, D-Link, WSO2, Thembay, and Zoho.

CSW's key services include:

  • Vulnerability Management as a Service;
  • Penetration Testing as a Service; and
  • PCI Compliance.

A CSW partner program supports channel partners and technology partners.

CSW: Previous Acquisition

CSW has M&A experience. The security firm merged with Zuggand -- an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner -- in July 2021. The resulting CSW business now focuses heavily on "Next-Generation Managed CloudSecOps."
