SixGen, a cybersecurity company that provides products and services to government and commercial organizations, has purchased technology management consulting company Fourcast Management & Analysis for an undisclosed sum.
This is technology M&A deal number 724 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
SixGen, founded in 2014, is based in Annapolis, Maryland. The company has 69 employees listed on LinkedIn. SixGen's areas of expertise include cloud security, cyber operations, red teaming, threat emulation and network engineering.
Fourcast, founded in 2002, is based in Hanover, Maryland. The company has eight employees listed on LinkedIn. Fourcast's areas of expertise include quality systems acquisition, program management, system engineering, contracts management, financial analysis and cost analysis.
SixGen Adds Government Professional Services
FourCast underpins SixGen's growth in professional services for the U.S. government, SixGen CEO Ethan Dietrich stated. It provides SixGen with program management, support, oversight and other complimentary offerings that the company can use to bolster its government professional services portfolio.
In addition, Fourcast will enhance its services, CEO William Ring said. Ring also pointed out that Fourcast will provide these services with "the highest quality, performance and dedication" to surpass its customers' expectations.
A Closer Look at SixGen
SixGen provides defensive and offensive cyber capabilities to help government and commercial organizations detect and respond to cyberattacks, the company said. It offers three cybersecurity products:
- Cognitive Objectives Utilizing Reality-based Simulation Engine (COURSE) provides cybersecurity simulations and training.
- Remote Access Vulnerability Exploitation Node (RAVEN) performs network audits and can be used in conjunction with an organization's cybersecurity tools and hardware.
- Sea Level configures system monitoring and enforces NIST controls.
SixGen also offers several cybersecurity services, including:
- Cybersecurity resilience testing
- Data science
- Incident response
SixGen has provided cybersecurity solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and various government agencies. It does not currently offer a channel partner program but may look to launch one in the future.
