Exabeam, a security information and event management company (SIEM), has unwrapped its new user behavior monitoring solution purpose-built for federal agencies and departments.

The solution details the practical steps to improve the prevention, detection, assessment and remediation of cyber incidents targeting government organizations, the company said in a prepared statement.

How Exabeam Helps Federal Agencies Meet Compliance Standards

The offering is in response to the need for federal departments and agencies to comply with the White House Office of Management and Budget Memorandum-21-31 (M-21-31) on "Improving the Federal Government’s Investigative and Remediation Capabilities Related to Cybersecurity Incidents" within two years of its initial published date of August 27, 2021.

Exabeam said that its solution will help agencies and departments achieve maturity Level EL3 (Event Logging Tier 3) through meeting compliance levels within M-21-31 that present comprehensive, detailed guidance for logging, orchestration, automation, response, user behavior monitoring, access and incident visibility.

Distributor Carahsoft and its network of authorized resellers will sell the solution via Carahsoft’s GSA Schedule No. 47QSWA18D008F, SEWP V contracts NNG15SC03B and NNG15SC27B, ITES-SW2 Contract W52P1J-20-D-0042, Department of Defense ESI BPA Contract # N66001-22-A-0082. Additional state, local and education are also involved in the contracts.

Delivering "Proactive Preparation"

Mike Langley, Exabeam vice president of Public Sector, commented on the solution:

“While the detailed guidance in M-21-31 for each level can seem daunting, we are offering federal organizations unique assistance to easily and swiftly achieve compliance with our user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) technologies. We know that proactive preparation is ideal, and we want to do whatever is possible to assist government agencies in improving their security posture in order to protect systems and sensitive data from any type of compromise.”

Steve Jacyna, Carahsoft director of Emerging Cybersecurity Solutions, said the distributor and its reseller partners are “fully engaged” to deliver the platform to federal agencies:

“Exabeam’s new user behavior monitoring solution, designed exclusively for federal departments and agencies, highlights Exabeam’s unwavering commitment to empowering the government with advanced cybersecurity capabilities.”
