Penetration Testing

Former Trustwave Executives Launch Offensive Security Company

Vigiles has emerged from stealth with security awareness and penetration testing solutions designed to transform offensive security, according to a prepared statement.

Organizations can use Vigiles' solutions to conduct security awareness testing on their own schedules, the company said. These solutions leverage automation and artificial intelligence to help organizations save time and effort in managing their security awareness initiatives.

In addition, Vigiles' solutions provide phishing insights reports based on simulated phishing campaigns, the company noted. These reports help organizations evaluate their security posture and manage their compliance and penetration testing initiatives.

Multiple Vigiles Offensive Security Products Are Available

Vigiles offers several offensive security products, including:

  • combines AI-powered scans with human expertise to uncover web application flaws missed by other security tools.

  • Penetration Test (Application) offers web, mobile or thick-client application penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in an organization's applications.

Vigiles provides its offensive security products to organizations of all sizes, the company said.

A Closer Look at Vigiles' Leadership Team

Vigiles was founded by Mark Whitehead and John Cartrett, who collectively possess decades of security industry experience, the company stated. Whitehead most recently served on the executive team at HUMAN Security, which manages a fraud sensor network. He also has held leadership roles at Trustwave Spiderlabs and Secureworks.

Prior to launching Vigiles with Whitehead, Cartrett served as a principal consultant at Stratum Security, which specializes in application and cloud security. Like Whitehead, Cartrett has held leadership roles at Trustwave Spiderlabs and Secureworks.

Along with Whitehead and Cartrett, Jack L. Johnson Jr. is a board advisor at Vigiles. Johnson spent 25 years at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and was appointed its first chief security officer.

What the Future Holds for Vigiles

Vigiles is committed to helping organizations address their cybersecurity objectives and testing needs, the company said. Going forward, Vigiles will provide offensive security solutions and products to protect organizations' networks and systems against cyber threats.

Meanwhile, Vigiles does not currently offer a partner program for MSSPs and MSPs. The company may look to develop and launch a channel partner program in the future.
