Malwarebytes Unveils “Extra Strength” EDR Capabilities

Share

Malwarebytes has released the EDR Extra Strength solution, which combines threat intelligence with endpoint detection and response and artificial intelligence to help organizations reduce their attack surface and speed up incident response, according to the company.

EDR Extra Strength is available via Malwarebytes for Business Advanced.

Going Beyond Standard Endpoint Detection and Response

EDR Extra Strength sets a "new standard" for endpoint detection and response, Malwarebytes stated.

The solution's features include:

  • Auto-remediation uses Malwarebytes' Linking Engine technology to detect and remove artifacts, changes and process alterations and eliminate malware and ransomware.
  • Patch management is used for applications and operating systems.
  • Security alert prioritization enables organizations to filter, prioritize and categorize alerts.
  • Step-by-step guidance resolves security issues.
  • Vulnerability assessments help organizations identify security weaknesses.

How Malwarebytes EDR Extra Strength Works

EDR Extra Strength maps cyberattacks to the MITRE ATT&CK framework, Malwarebytes indicated. This provides organizations with data and context that they can use to understand cybercriminals' goals and techniques.

In addition, EDR Extra Strength isolates threats across organizations' desktops, networks and processes. This helps organizations avoid lateral movement that can otherwise cause a cyberattack to spread across organizations' operations.

EDR Extra Strength also offers a 72-hour ransomware rollback feature, Malwarebytes said. That way, organizations can restore files that were encrypted, modified or deleted to return devices to a healthy state.

Malwarebytes Upgrades Its OneView Console, Launches MDR Solution

The EDR Extra Strength launch comes after Malwarebytes in May 2023 incorporated mobile security features into its OneView multi-tenant console. MSPs can use these features to protect their customers' Chromebooks and Android and iOS devices against cyber threats, the company said.

Previously, Malwarebytes in October 2022 released a managed detection and response (MDR) solution for MSPs and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). This solution provides around-the-clock threat hunting, monitoring and response capabilities, Malwarebytes noted.

A Closer Look at Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes offers endpoint protection, privacy and threat prevention solutions globally. The company's Endpoint Protection solution received a perfect score in an assessment completed by independent IT research firm MRG Effitas in the fourth quarter of 2022.

MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join Malwarebytes' partner program. By doing so, they can use Malwarebytes' solutions to deliver EDR, MDR and other security services.
