Synnex Distributes Cloud SIEM, SOAR From Sumo Logic, D3 Security

Synnex has announced two separate distribution partnerships with Sumo Logic and D3 Security, respectively, involving the SIEM (security information and event management) and SOAR (security orchestration, automation and response) software markets.

The partnerships surface as distributors strive to empower VARs, MSPs and channel partners with security operations center as a service (SOCaaS)-type products and services.

In the first relationship, Synnex and Sumo Logic will provide a cloud-based security practice that leverages Sumo Logic's Practice Builder program, the companies said. This practice will provide organizations with visibility into their on-premises and cloud environments, so they can prioritize security insights, respond to cyber threats in real-time and enforce security and compliance policies. It also will deliver solutions across the following areas:

  • Cloud SIEM
  • Cloud SOAR
  • Cloud security monitoring analytics
  • Compliance

Synnex, D3 Security and Rival Distributors

Meanwhile, Synnex will provide the D3 XGEN SOAR Platform to organizations across the United States and Canada, the companies stated. XGEN SOAR helps organizations automate their Tier-1 security operations and reduce the time spent on false positives by over 90 percent.

The distribution developments surface just as Synnex seeks to finalize a merger with rival Tech Data. Private equity firm Apollo Global Management has owned Tech Data since mid-2020, and will be a major investor in the finalized Synnex-Tech Data deal.

Meanwhile, Synnex rival Ingram Micro also is expanding its security distribution efforts. For instance, Ingram in  June 2021 to distribute Stellar Cyber Open XDR.  Also, Ingram has relationships with Arctic Wolf Networks and Binary Defense.
