MSSP Cerberus Sentinel Acquires Ground Control IT

MSSP Cerberus Sentinel has acquired Ground Control IT, a help desk and managed IT services provider. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 342 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2021.

In this deal, Ground Control will become part of Cerberus and continue to focus on delivering integrated risk managed services to customers, according to the companies. In addition, Ground Control President Ryan Greyslak will transition to VP of managed services for Cerberus.

A Closer Look at Ground Control IT

Ground Control provides a variety of help desk and managed services, including:

  • Desktop and server maintenance
  • Email spam protection and encryption
  • Hardware failure support
  • Network and antivirus monitoring
  • Virtualization

Furthermore, Ground Control provides support with operating systems, network configurations and wireless equipment, the company said. It also offers a free network assessment to help organizations identify potential vulnerabilities and explore upgrades.

Along with Ground Control, Cerberus in August 2020 purchased MSSP Technologyville. Also, Cerberus in July 2020 merged with TalaTek, an integrated risk management firm. TalaTek operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Cerberus and provides integrated risk management services to federal government and private sector organizations.

What Is Cerberus Sentinel?

Cerberus is an Arizona-based MSSP and publicly traded cybersecurity company. It specializes in managed cybersecurity and compliance (MCCP) services.

Organizations can leverage Cerberus's exclusive MCCP+ managed cybersecurity and compliance services plus culture program, the company noted. This program is designed to help organizations analyze their cybersecurity requirements and uncover ways to guard against cyberattacks and comply with data security mandates.
