Corbett Technology Solutions Acquires Cybersecurity Firm Star Asset Security

Corbett Technology Solutions (CTSI), backed by private equity firm Wind Point Partners, has acquired Star Asset Security. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 800 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2021.

This is CTSI's sixth acquisition since partnering with Wind Point in June 2020, the buyer said. Star expands CTSI's security integration footprint and strengthens its cybersecurity capabilities, Wind Point Managing Director Nathan Brown indicated.

Star is a Florida-based risk, resilience and security services firm. It provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Performance Monitoring: Allows organizations to maintain, monitor and service any IT and physical security system.
  • Physical Security: Helps organizations design, deploy and manage the technologies that they use for their daily operations.
  • Program Management: Enables organizations to collect data and insights that they can use to find ways to improve their IT infrastructure.

Star also offers physical security, IT and cybersecurity solutions backed by its ION247 Center of Excellence, the company indicated. ION247 provides managed services to help organizations monitor, maintain and secure their customers' IT and physical security infrastructure.

What Does the Star Acquisition Mean for CTSI?

Star enhances CTSI's security integration capabilities across the south and central portions of the United States, CTSI noted. In addition, Star helps CTSI further enhance its cybersecurity offerings.

Meanwhile, CTSI will continue to target acquisitions, the company indicated. CTSI's acquisition strategy will continue to focus on acquiring security, life safety, nurse call, collaboration and communication solution providers.
