Cybersecurity Acquisition: Two Six Technologies Buys River Loop Security

Two Six Technologies, backed by global investment firm The Carlyle Group, has acquired River Loop Security, which specializes in Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded device cybersecurity. Financial terms for the acquisition were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 325 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

River Loop strengthens Two Six's ability to address the mission needs of its national security customers, Two Six CEO Joe Logue said. It will help Two Six develop new technologies to meet the needs of its customers and end users.

In addition, the River Loop acquisition expands Two Six's workforce to over 500 professionals, the companies said. It also comes after Two Six and River Loop previously partnered for several years on multiple programs for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

A Closer Look at River Loop Security

River Loop delivers end-to-end security architecture and design, penetration testing, automated security solutions and custom engineering, the company said. In doing so, River Loop helps organizations secure their IoT and embedded devices.

Organizations can leverage a variety of River Loop cybersecurity solutions, including:

  • Industrial IoT and critical infrastructure security
  • Supply chain security
  • Research and development and development, security and operations (DevSecOps)

River Loop also provides several cybersecurity services, such as:

  • Embedded and IoT penetration testing
  • Firmware security automation and DevSecOps
  • Hardware supply chain security

River Loop offers its cybersecurity solutions and services to organizations in healthcare, telecommunications and other industries. It does not currently offer a channel partner program.

Two Six Increases Its Revenue, Contract Portfolio in 2021

The River Loop acquisition comes after Two Six reported more than 50 percent year-over-year revenue growth in 2021. Two Six also expanded its contract portfolio to more than $600 million of available contract ceiling during the time frame.

Global investment firm The Carlyle Group launched Two Six launched in February 2021.  Two Six provides cyber and space operations, data science, information operations, microelectronics, next-generation communications and intelligence products to national security organizations.
