Orange Cyberdefense, the cybersecurity division of global network operator and digital services provider Orange Group, has acquired Scrt and Telsys for an undisclosed sum.

These are technology M&A deals number 952 and 953 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Orange Cyberdefense, founded in 2002, is based in Nanterre, France. The company has 2,982 employees listed on LinkedIn. Orange Cyberdefense's areas of expertise include managed security services, managed detection and response (MDR) and identity and access management (IAM).

Scrt, founded in 2002, is based in Morges, Switzerland. The company has 109 employees listed on LinkedIn. Scrt's areas of expertise include cloud security, incident response and IT security auditing and training.

Orange Cyberdefense Extends European Cybersecurity Market Reach

With the Scrt and Telsys acquisitions, Orange Cyberdefense will retain both companies' management and integrated teams. In doing so, Orange Cyberdefense strengthens and accelerates its European expansion plans, the company indicated.

The Scrt and Telsys acquisitions provide Orange Cyberdefense with cyber threat intelligence expertise, the company said. They also allow Orange Cyberdefense to expand its managed security and IT services.

In addition, the Scrt and Telsys acquisitions support Orange Cyberdefense's "ambitious organic and inorganic strategy to establish itself as the European leader in cybersecurity," the company said. These acquisitions further strengthen Orange Group's presence in the Swiss cybersecurity market as well.

Orange Cyberdefense Partners with Venture Capital Firm, Eyes European Market Growth

The Scrt and Telsys acquisitions come after Orange Cyberdefense in July 2022 announced a partnership with venture capital firm NightDragon.

NightDragon provides Orange Cyberdefense with access to its portfolio companies, according to the businesses. It allows Orange Cyberdefense to evaluate these companies and use their technologies to bolster its cybersecurity offerings and expand its European market reach.

Orange Cyberdefense maintains a European presence in nine countries, the company indicated. It provides organizations in these countries with access to more than 2,700 cybersecurity employees.

Meanwhile, Orange Cyberdefense supports more than 8,500 customers worldwide, the company said. It also is committed to earning 1 billion euros (approximately $1.03 billion) in 2023 and continues to explore global expansion opportunities.
